Guest Services Team Leader
Vikki Miller, Guest Services Team Leader
Vikki Miller (email@example.com) is the person who schedules and mentors the Log Church greeters and Welcome Place Volunteers. She also keeps our website calendar updated.
Vikki chose the Log Church as her home after visiting several churches and viewing and listening to the Log Church on line. After she first attended, she knew she had found the right church for her.
“Pastor Mark is so authentic and teaches from the heart and from scripture “
Connecting with people and helping them keeps Vikki loving her position. Sometimes just a smile along with saying, “Hi. Welcome to the Log Church,” Can make a big difference in someone’s day.
Vikki, who is a native of Pine River, moved To the Twin Cities for several years, but moved back in 2013. She married in 2016 and she and her husband, Doug, have 5 daughters and 8 grandchildren along with a 130 pound black lab named Boo. She owns and operates Sunshines Cleaning Service and her husband, Doug is a Paramedic and Real Estate Agent. They presently live on Lake Ada in Pine River where they spend their off time hunting, 4 wheeling, fishing and camping.
Her favorite verse of Scripture is Phil 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” This scripture has helped her remember in really really hard times that HE is where her strength comes from and HE can help her do all things.
Hospitality Team Leader
Charlie has been the Hospitality Team Leader at the Log Church for about a year. He epitomizes hospitality and cordiality. Charlie is in charge of and cooks for the Wednesday night dinners with help from some ever eager volunteers.
“Everything I prepare is home cooked,” Charlie emphasizes. "And, I don’t share my recipes. Because, if people could prepare the food themselves mine wouldn’t be so special,” he says with a sly smile. He is always on the lookout for other ways to provide food and hospitality at the Log Church. His food experience stems from working with his Mom for years in a catering company they owned.
Living in Andover In 2006, Charlie and his family had a crisis going with their 16 year old son who seemed to always be in trouble.
“My family and I were just casual church goers at that point, and had a lot of other things on our plate” he explains.
Their son was sent to an Outward Bound program. Charlie and his wife, Cindy took stock of themselves and their situation and looked to God. With God’s guidance, they made the decision to move permanently to the Crosslake area where they previously had purchased a cabin. The Outward Bound experience turned out to be wonderful for their son and after their move, he thrived in the Pequot Lakes School system.
“I know God pointed us here,” says Charlie. “He also brought us to the Log Church where we’ve found a home. My father in law, Lowell Hilbrands also joined the Church is now in charge of outreach to nursing homes and assisted living facilities”.
Charlie loves feeding people and finds it very fulfilling. He would enjoy seeing the entire dining room filled with folks every Wednesday evening. That would be one of his biggest joys.
Charlie lives with his wife, Cindy, who has a job doing consumer research from her home. They have three children and live on the Shores of Clam Shell Lake on the Whitefish Chain. Charlie gets to be a House Husband and loves it. He does everything around the house from cooking and cleaning, to blowing snow and mowing the lawn. He enjoys boating in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter.
